About Me

Howdy Partner! My name is Mackenzie, I am the face (and hands) behind Texas Red Ceramics. After taking my first pottery class with my mom in early 2022, I very quickly realized that ceramics was a lot more than just a hobby to me. Within the year I had established Texas Red Ceramics and found myself as an artist. I am a completely self run business, and operate entirely out of my backyard studio. I’m so self run, in fact, that I built my own studio! From scratch! Nothing in my life has ever brought me as much joy and fulfillment as pottery does, and I feel so fortunate to be able to share my art with the world. I like to say that I view the world through rainbow colored glasses, and I hope that comes through in my work!

Each and every one of my pieces is handmade in my backyard studio, hand painted at my kitchen table, and fired in my backyard kiln. I am very fortunate to be able to work in my pajamas every day without my boss (my cat) getting mad at me!

And yes, I’m from Texas
